Hoisin Roasted Pork

SLOW ROASTED HOISIN PORK Serves 12. 8 lb boneless pork shoulder (boston blade) 2 small onions, roughly chopped. 8 oz hoisin sauce 2 tbs pepper corns 1/4 c water 1/4 c scotch 2 tbs oil 2+ tbs wondra flour Heat oven to 300. Heat oil in large dutch oven or other oven-safe vessel with a lid. Sear pork on all sides, then turn fat-side down. Add water, onions, pepercorns. Pour hoisin over roast, lid and place in oven for 4 hours. Remove roast and cover with foil. Let sit 20 minutes. Meanwhile, strain liquid into a pot and bring to a boil. Add scotch. either reduce liquid, or add roux or flour to thicken.
